An Introvert person invariably faces problems in self-expression. This could lead to a lot of misunderstanding in relationships at work as well as on the personal relationships front. Here’s a quick 3-step guide to help an introvert take the first few steps towards finding better ways to express and be understood.
Traits of an Introvert
There are a few broad characteristics that define introverts. One of them is that they are known to think more than they express.
They have brilliant ideas but they tend to keep it to themselves.
Some Tips
If you are an introvert and are struggling to express yourself to a larger audience, here are a few tips that might help.
Find a setting that you are comfortable in. Think about it and try out different interactions and settings, till you finalize the one that works best for you.
Start by talking to a smaller group, or even to just one other person. If you find it easier to gather your thoughts and express yourself to a smaller setting, start doing it more often. The more you practice, the better you will become at it.
Experiment this with a group you are comfortable with – family, close friends. Request them to be non-judgmental, because only you know your feelings and the emotions that you go through.
Expressing yourself online is a powerful tool, one that you should use regardless of your personality type. However, blogging is especially beneficial to introverts, since you have a platform to express yourself in any form you like: comics, info-graphics, articles, poetry, or even video!
